The University of Vermont Medical Center Day One Program, located in Burlington, Vermont, is an outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare program for adults. It offers intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and standard outpatient programs (OP) for those in addiction recovery, including specialized services for clients with co-occurring mental health issues. Clients receive thorough medical and mental health assessments, personalized care planning, and comprehensive case management. They participate in trauma-informed individual, group, and family counseling using effective modalities like CBT. Those recovering from alcohol and/or opioid use may access medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including Suboxone therapy. The program emphasizes sustained sobriety through recovery-focused life skills training, covering coping strategies, self-care, wellness, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention, along with a variety of evidence-based complementary therapies such as mindfulness training.
