The Grove Academy is a residential recovery program under Florida IMPOWER, specifically designed for adolescents aged 13 to 17 years in Winter Springs, Florida. The program aims to equip individuals and families with the tools needed to lead meaningful and productive lives through comprehensive treatment support.Key Features of The Grove Academy: Comprehensive Treatment Options: The Grove Academy offers a continuum of mental health and substance use treatment, including: Residential therapy Flexible intensive outpatient (IOP) care, with a completely virtual option available Financial Accessibility: The program accepts Medicaid and Medicare, helping to break down financial barriers to access treatment. Tranquil Location: Situated in serene woods southeast of Central Winds Park and south of the Museum of Seminole County History, the location provides a peaceful environment conducive to recovery, with convenient access via State Road 419. Structured Care for Long-Term Success: The program lasts between 30 and 90 days, during which participants attend therapy groups five days a week and monthly individual sessions to address emotional and social issues. Monthly family sessions are also provided to enhance understanding and support for the recovery journey. Life Skills and 12-Step Program: Participants engage in life skills classes and the 12 Steps, covering essential topics such as budgeting, job interview preparation, and healthy meal planning. They also attend Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings most evenings for peer support. Educational Support: The Grove Academy partners with Florida Virtual School, allowing residents to stay on track with academic credits or catch up in their studies. The credits are accepted by all Florida schools, helping to reduce stigma when returning to a traditional classroom setting. Adolescent Virtual IOP: After completing the residential program, participants can continue their healing journey through the adolescent virtual IOP, which lasts about six weeks and includes psychiatric care, such as medication management, to address co-occurring or underlying mental health issues and ensure holistic recovery. The Grove Academy is dedicated to supporting adolescents on their path to recovery, providing a nurturing environment and comprehensive care.
