Reviews From Google

This Rehab Center Is Rated 5 Stars on Google Maps

"With no hesitation I can give Dana Point 5 stars. I was very hesitant to reach out and get the help I needed and from the first call with admissions, Taylor helped relieve all of my anxieties I had about making Dana point my home for the next month. From the minute on the phone with me committing to go here I was given five star treatment, and treated with the utmost respect from everyone working in this facility. This was my first time in treatment ever and I am so thankful to have gotten so lucky coming here, the entire program from start to finish has helped me rebuild my life mentally and physically. I have had many therapists in the past that have left me scared to trust anyone, until I came here and met the entire clinical staff. I knew I was in a safe place to be able to get the tools I needed to further my life. The program offers, everything and more to help you get the help you need. To AA meetings, CBT groups, to groups focused on boundaries and family relationships. You also have one on ones with a therapist and case manager, and if it wasn’t for the case manager Briant, I wouldn’t have felt confident to be able to start my journey outside of this program. I am forever thankful to every single staff members in this program. Thank you Dana Point Rehab Campus!"

"When I arrived to Dana Point I was a husk of a human being; extremely depressed, lost and in so much pain. The nurses and care coordinators went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible during the entirety of my stay. I’ve had many therapists in my lifetime and can say that the therapy provided here is truly the best of the best. They really know what they’re doing. With their aid I was able to start rebuilding myself from rock bottom up. I never thought I would be able to find joy or serenity in life after what I’ve been through. A miracle in the works. Thank you DPRC!"

"Dana Point helped me do for myself what I couldn’t have done alone. I had all but give up on life before I got here. Dana Point gave me the power to face my fears in life. My experience was quite amazing. The staff was always available if I needed anything. I had never been able to connect with a counselor in such a positive way. It was a perfect fit. I couldn’t have had a better outcome!"

"When I first called to get information on the the program, Austin was my first connection. He was very responsive and helped me through the process. It was an easy process with insurance and I felt that he understood my situation. Collin was able to join the program and has since been through the 30 day rehab and has now been in the sober living home for 30 days. The care that Collin has received and his progress has been so refreshing. I feel as a mom, that Collin’s progress has been very positive. I would highly recommend this program to those out there that are ready to make a change and get sober in their life."

Detox Services

Buprenorphine Detox

Buprenorphine is a prescription drug ( brand name Subutex, among others), which falls under a class of medications known as mixed opioid agonist-antagonists. It is used as a replacement for other opiates that someone is addicted to. So, Buprenorphine detox has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat opioid addiction. Buprenorphine detox works by attaching itself to the brain's receptors, which cause the general feeling of calmness and euphoria. It then blocks the effects of other opiates leading to a decrease of cravings.

Psychotropic Medication

Psychotropic medicine is used in the treatment of psychiatric conditions. Its use alters the chemical patterns in the brain, which affect behaviors and moods of an individual. Most treatment facilities use it as antidepressants, anti-anxiety, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and ADHD drugs. Lithium is an excellent example of psychotropic medication used in many treatment centers. The efficient balancing of chemical levels in the brain makes it a suitable method for treating drug addiction cases.

Vivitrol is an injectable Naltrexone drug used to treat alcohol and opioid addiction. It mainly acts by blocking the opioid receptors leading to lesser pain relief or feel-good feelings that are usually associated with opioid addiction. Vivitrol has zero psychoactive properties as such its use never leads to dependence. It is commonly used alongside several other therapy practices to help an addict to overcome opioid addiction or alcohol. Before starting VIVITROL, you must be opioid-free for at least 7-10 days to avoid sudden opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist. It works by blocking the action of opioids in the body. It is not sedating or addictive. It doesn’t result to physical dependence. Unfortunately, it has been reported that patients often have trouble keeping up with the treatment using naltrexone. Because of non-compliances, its usage has become less effective. Naltrexone injectable long-term drug received FDA approval in 2010. Its use has become quite popular since the approval. It is only injected monthly, eliminating the need to do away with the daily dosages by eliminating the need for daily dosing. Other than medication administered to the patients, behavioral therapies are necessary for heroin treatment. A combination of both behavioral therapies and medication often produce positive results.

Levels of Care

Delivering Private, Compassionate and Comprehensive Care

Comprehensive care means that each Dana Point Rehab Campus resident will receive a complete diagnostic assessment, from which our multidisciplinary team of experts creates and coordinates an individualized treatment plan.

No one person is exactly alike, and neither are our treatment plans. We never use a one-size-fits-all approach or off-the-shelf, cookie-cutter treatment plans. All of our care is customized and designed to fit each person’s diagnosis and recovery goals. Plus, all of this is delivered with the utmost respect, concern, care, and compassion.

Quitting drugs and alcohol abruptly can cause severe withdrawal symptoms that may be deadly for some. Heavy drinkers who suffer from alcohol use disorder face the risk of a severe form of withdrawal called delirium tremens, which can cause seizures, hallucinations, and even death. But many of today’s drug and alcohol detox treatments involve the use of medications that can treat specific symptoms or eliminate symptoms completely.

Our campus is fully staffed with licensed, experienced addiction specialists. Personalized monitoring and management of withdrawal symptoms are provided around-the-clock. Every detox program is uniquely designed to provide the highest level of treatment for total wellness and recovery.

Residential Treatment

Dana Point Rehab Campus offers an inpatient residential treatment in a safe, structured environment where you can recover with minimal exposure to negative distractions and influences. Our programs are tailored to meet the unique recovery needs of you or your loved one suffering from substance abuse.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides vital, attentive care at least five days a week for up to six hours a day. The program also includes, at a minimum, one session of individual, group or family psychotherapy and two or more other therapy services. The goal of PHP is to provide services in a highly supported environment for patients who are at the point in their recovery where they do not need constant supervision and monitoring.

PHP serves as a step down from inpatient care but is still more focused than traditional outpatient care. As patients at Dana Point Rehab Campus progress in their treatment, they’ll move from our inpatient, resident program into partial our hospitalization program. For example, some people who may be battling chemical dependency do not need the intensive, round-the-clock supervision of our inpatient medical detox program. However, based on their treatment plan it’s been identified that they will benefit from a structured outpatient setting.

Individualized Treatment

Individualized treatment is where a client works directly with a trained therapist, in a safe and confidential environment to solve the client’s issues. It is designed to address a person’s unique needs since every case is different from the history behind one’s drug use. The treatment form can be long term or short term depending on one’s situation. An individualized treatment program is more effective when combined with other types of mental and behavioral treatments such as family therapy.

12 steps is a philosophy that was initiated by Alcoholics Anonymous to help those struggling with addiction or any other destructive behavior. The program comprises people with similarexperiences and those that share hope and strength. It encourages individuals to follow a set of guiding principles known as the 12 steps to help them achieve abstinence from behavioral problems. Not only does the 12 step program help the addict, but also their family members and friends.

Aftercare Support

Aftercare support is a follow-up treatment, which you receive after completing a recovery program. It is one of the essential stages of the rehab process. Its primary purpose is to prevent a relapse and to help you stay focused during your recovery period. Aftercare support can also help in the development of coping skills. Some of its programs and organizations include the following:

  • Ongoing therapy
  • Sober living homes
  • Therapy and counseling
  • Support groups

Holistic Treatment

We Focus on the Whole Person, Not the Problem While it is important to address addiction as the problem it is, focusing your recovery solely on the problem itself creates a more stressful experience that can make it harder to maintain your sobriety. Addiction rehabilitation is not so much about the condition itself, but you as a person. If recovering from addiction was as simple as recognizing it as a problem and telling yourself to stop, then this would not be the pervasive problem that it is. It is important to address the underlying causes of addiction so that you can understand what led to this problem in the first place and learn new strategies for managing cravings and temptations.

Dana Point Rehab Campus’s approach to addiction treatment is personal and holistic. We know that every person who comes to us for help has had different struggles and experiences. All of our treatment programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Treatment Focus

Alcoholism is the most severe problem associated with the drinking of alcohol-associated with an uncontrollable strong urge to drink. It is also known as alcohol dependence because addicts place drinking above all other obligations and may forsake activities they previously enjoyed. Their bodies mainly have developed physical tolerance of alcohol, and as such, the individuals may get withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking. They continue to drink despite experiencing adverse interpersonal or social effects.

Opiod Addiction

Opioid addiction is a compulsive and robust urge to continually take a class of drugs that have the opioid chemical composition. Opioid drugs provoke the release of endorphin and dopamine neurotransmitters in the body, which causes one to feel euphoric. They include legal prescription painkillers such as methadone, fentanyl, and oxycodone as well as illegal drugs like heroin. Continued opioid use even under a prescription affects the brain chemistry making the body to demand more to get the same high feeling.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Mental health and substance abuse issues are commonly interlinked, and when they occur together, it is referred to as a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder. It is normally characterized by drug addiction and a mental health disorder such as bipolar disease or anxiety. Both drug abuse and mental health disorders have individual and unique symptoms. However, if any of the problems are left untreated, it triggers the other problem to worsen.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis is when one has a mental health issue alongside a substance abuse problem. It is also referred to as a co-occurring disease characterized by individual symptoms for both problems. However, the two issues tend to be linked because when one goes untreated, it triggers the other problem to worsen. When both are ignored, they increase in severity at a heightened rate, making one’s life unbearable.

Therapy Programs

Faith Based Addiction Treatment

If traditional methods of drug and alcohol rehabilitation are not helping you escape the grips of addiction, then it may be time to consider how a faith-based, nondenominational Christian approach to rehab treatment could help. By weaving religion and spirituality into your recovery program, you can uncover your core, discover where the root of your addiction lies, and feel connected again with God. Through faith, strength.

Dana Point Rehab Campus in Orange County offers our nondenominational Christ-centered drug and alcohol treatment center’s services to people who are looking to achieve sobriety by building a stronger groundwork of religious teachings and beliefs. Faith-based addiction treatment is a tried-and-true method of recovery for millions of people across the years. In fact, Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) uses religion and faith as its foundation, referencing to a "Higher Power" throughout its programs and principles. However, we know no two people and their struggles are ever the same, and so we always personalized our recovery programs for each individual who comes to our door.

Family Therapy

Family therapy involves working closely with couples aiming at counseling them to nurture changes and development. The family counseling approach views the family development based on interaction systems among family members. It emphasizes a lot on family relationships as one of the most crucial factors in psychological health development. For the effectiveness of this program, the therapist must possess the skill to engage the families in the therapy session directly.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy program, also regarded as psychotherapy is a counseling program where trained therapists work one-on-one with their clients. The program is conducted in a safe, confidential, and caring environment. It enables the clients to explore their feelings, behaviors, beliefs, and work through some of their past influential and challenging memories. Also, they identify life aspects that they would like to change, understand themselves better, and establish their desired goals.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

Dialectal behavioral therapy identifies and tries to change the negative thinking patterns and instead instills positive thinking behavioral changes. This program mainly targets individuals with suicidal feelings and other self-destructive behaviors. This therapy focuses on bringing acceptance and change in individuals where therapists help the patients attain self-love and value. The support given by professionals shows the positive part of life to the addict giving him or her more reasons to live a healthy life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy program engages more than one therapist treating several patients as a group. This means that this form of psychotherapy happens in a group format, but is usually applied to a small psychodynamic group where the context and the process of the concerned group are explicitly used as a change, development, exploration and examination mechanism on interpersonal relationships within the group. Therapists offer support and training on mindfulness, anger management, social skills, and relaxation.

Creative Arts Therapy

A creative arts therapy program is conducted by trained therapists where they subject the patients to some creative works. Patients creatively work under the supervision and guidance of these therapists. As a result, patients become more communicative and expressive. The program raises the patients’ awareness of issues and enables them to have an impetus for change. Some of the creative arts include art, music, movement, and dances.

Life Skills

The life skill therapy approach involves bringing back the pediatric clients to the highest functioning levels using the community integrative approach. Therapists work with clients in real-life homes and community settings in order to create goal-based and result-oriented individual programs. This program works to improve the patient’s functioning by the use of therapeutic activities, activity analysis and modification as well as adaptive equipment.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy is aimed at helping individuals who have had severe traumatic experiences. A mental health professional is set to help people who have gone through unfortunate happenings to recover. Through direct contact between patients and mental therapists, the patients are helped to overcome distress, pain as well as any mental dysfunction that may have resulted from the overwhelming threatening trauma. Patients can face past realities without really getting stuck to them.

Nutrion Therapy

Nutrition therapy is an approach used to treat medical conditions by use of individually tailored diet under the monitoring of medical dietitian. Therapists base this treatment diet on the patient’s medical record, dietary history, functional and physical examination. This therapy is aimed at reducing the risk of developing patient complications in pre-existing health issues such as diabetes, ameliorate, and cholesterol. The diet put in place in this program is not aimed at replacing treatment but complementing the regular drug therapies prescribed by healthcare providers.

Cognitive Behvioral Therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a psychotherapeutic program aimed at helping patients understand the feelings and thoughts that influence behaviors. Patients with various mental disorders such as phobias, anxiety, depression, and addictions are helped to identify and change their destructive behaviors patterns that negatively influence their emotions. This therapy program is mainly short-term, with therapists trying to help patients deal with specific problems after mental health analysis.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is aimed at helping couples or two people in a romantic relationship gain a more in-depth insight into their relationship. The couple psychotherapist helps the couples in conflict resolution as well as improves the relationship satisfaction through efficient utilization of therapeutic interventions. The couple therapist focuses on a specific problem such as internet addiction or sexual difficulties and actively participating in attending to the relationship itself rather than treating the individuals separately. The solution-focused and change-oriented interventions are put in place so as to create satisfaction in the relationship.

Rational Behavior Therapy

Rational behavior therapy helps the patients to identify self-defeating feelings and thoughts, challenge the rationality of the negative thoughts, and replace them with positive, healthier, and more productive thoughts. This program aims at helping patients understand how negative thoughts and feelings can create emotional distress which later leads to unhealthy behaviors that negatively impact their current life goals. Once the patients identify and understand these concepts, they can replace the negative beliefs with the positive ones, allowing them to develop more productive personal and professional relationships.
